Minister of State for Capital Administration & Development Division ( CA&DD ), Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said that Health Reform for Islamabad under Prime Minister of Pakistan vision has started on the same lines as Education reform for Islamabad .

He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz Sharif are taking keen interest for the development of Islamabad as a model city. He said this while talking to Media after inauguration of Female Doctor’s Hostel in Polyclinic Hospital Islamabad on Thursday morning.

The Minister said that new emergencies in Polyclinic and PIMSHospitals will be completed soon and the conditions of wards and OPDs will also be improved by providing better medical facilities and qualified doctors. He further said that a new medical city of 2000 beds is proposed to be built in Islamabad or four hospitals of 500 beds each may be established in different parts of the city including rural areas.

Until the conditions and medical facilities in Basic Health Units (BHU) is not improved the pressure on the main hospitals will remain high, he continued. He said that all basic health facilities including minor surgeries will be provided in BHUs so that only patients for tertiary care should be referred to main hospital.

Minister also visited the emergency, medical wards and various units of the hospital and directed the newly appointed ED to make polyclinic hospital a state of the art hospital. He further directed that all modern facilities of modern medical care be ensured at the hospital.
