President Mamnoon Hussain has said that education is the key to progress of nations and called for concerted efforts to improve the standard of education across the country. The President emphasized that educational institutions should also focus on character building of their students apart from imparting quality education.

The President said this while talking to Vice Chancellor, Quaid-e-AzamUniversity (QAU) Prof Dr. Javed Ashraf and Rector, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) Dr. Syed Muhammad Junaid Zaidi who separately called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Thursday.

Talking to Vice Chancellor QAU, President Mamnoon Hussain stated that Quaid-e-AzamUniversity is a prestigious institution and asked the Vice Chancellor to take the university to new heights of academic excellence and discipline.

Separately, the President in a meeting with Dr. Syed Muhammad Junaid Zaidi Rector, CIIT said that the Information Technology Institute is rendering important services in promoting higher education in Pakistan adding that it will have his full support in the development and growth of the institution.

During their separate meetings, the Vice Chancellor QAU and Rector CIIT briefed President Mamnoon about academic, administrative and financial matters relating to their respective institutions.
