Federal Minister for
Human Rights Mr. Mumtaz Ahmed Tarar attended the Senate’s Functional Committee
on Human Rights held in Old PIPS Hall, Parliament Lodges, Islamabad, on 11th
September, 2017.
The Committee discussed the burning
issue of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and formulation of Joint Resolution for
submission in the upper House. The Committee strongly condemned the atrocities,
mass killings and forcible evictions by the Myanmar government.
The Committee urged the Government of
Pakistan to pursue the issue urgently bilaterally with Myanmar authorities as
well as multilaterally with international community.
Minister for Human Rights keenly
emphasized that Ministry will do its best on all platforms for the rights of
Rohingyan Muslims.
