At the invitation of
the Polish Government, Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer
Hussain visited Poland from 3-6 September, 2017 to participate in the 25th
International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO-2017) held in Kielce. He met Polish
leaders, senior officials involved in defence sector and also witnessed a live
fire demonstration.
He met
with Polish Minister of National Defence Mr. Antoni Macierewicz on 05 September, 2017. The Minister was accompanied by the
Ambassador of Pakistan to Poland and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defence
Production.
The
two Ministers discussed bilateral relations with particular focus on
cooperation in the field of defence production.
They agreed that both the countries could benefit from each other
expertise in this field. Rana Tanveer Hussain appreciated the great progress
made by Poland in defence production. He stressed the need for close
collaboration between Pakistan and Poland in this field and emphasized regular
interaction and exchange of visits by experts and professionals in this regard.
Minister for Defence Production extended an invitation to Mr. Antoni Macierewicz to visit Pakistan that was kindly accepted by the
latter.
The Polish
Minister of National Defence underlined that Pakistan was an important country
in the region and that his country greatly valued its growing relations with
Pakistan. He conveyed his government’s commitment to further enhance bilateral
cooperation between the two countries in all areas and particularly in the
defence sector.
Rana
Tanveer Hussain also held a meeting with Polish Deputy Minister for National
Defence Mr. Bartosz Kownacki and discussed bilateral cooperation between
defence production industries of the two countries.
Earlier,
on 04 September, 2017, Rana Tanveer Hussain visited Nowa Deba (Polish Armed
Forces exercise area) and attended a presentation about Poland’s Defence Forces
and Industry. Polish armed forces gave a live demonstration of rescue and
relief operation during wartime. Commander Polish Land Forces Brig. General
Wojciech Grabowski briefed the Minister about the demonstration and arms and
equipment used for it. The Minister also visited arms manufacturing company FB
LUCZNIK of the Polish Armament Group.
