President Mamnoon Hussain has said that educational and literary institutions being run under the administration of the government can play an important role in the philosophical and spiritual training of the nation. The President emphasized the need to enhance the capacity of these institutions so that they are able to meet the goals for which they were set up.

The President said this while talking to Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Tuesday.

The President stated that it is the constitutional requirement to adopt Urdu as official language implementation of which has been delayed and called for expediting the process for attaining this goal. Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui briefed the President about the performance of educational and literary institutions. He apprised the President that planning has been done to promote the teachings of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal and special measures are being taken to this end. Mr. Irfan Siddiqui informed the President that a three day book fair would be organized in Islamabad commencing from 22nd April.
