PR No.90 NAVTTC Approves Accreditation Status To 542 Disciplines/Technical Trades Offered By 66 Tvet Institutes In Its 10th Ta&Qec Meeting Islamabad: April 11, 2016

The 10th Meeting of NAVTTC - TVET Accreditation & Quality Evaluation Committee (TA&QEC) was held at National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) HQs Islamabad on the directions of the Executive Director NAVTTC, Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema. The meeting continued for four consecutive days.  Mahboob Iqbal Qadir, Director General NAVTTC, chaired the meeting.

The Members from Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), TEVTA Punjab, TEVTA AJK, TEVTA KPK, TTB Baluchistan, Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Higher Education Commission (HEC), National Institute of Science and Technical Education (NISTE), GIZ, officers of NAVTTC and Representatives of TVET Reform Support Program (TRSP) attended the sessions. All the participants discussed each and every program and gave accreditation status to TVET Institutes and Programs.

Total 78 TVET Institutes throughout Pakistan were thoroughly evaluated and Accreditation Assessment Reports of 587 Programs/Trades were presented before the Forum of TA&QEC for final Approval. Out of 587 programs, 542 offered by 66 TVET Institutes, were granted Accreditation Status in various categories throughout the country including AJK, GB and FATA. Thus the total number of Accredited TVET programs so far accredited by NAVTTC has risen to 1129. The Forum also appreciated work done in a very short time by the NAVTTC team to achieve the target of accreditation of at-least 1000 programs till March, 2016.

The Executive Director NAVTTC, Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema has stressed upon the need to accredit maximum TVET Institutes in the country to bring quality culture in TVET Sector of Pakistan so that the employability of Youth as per National and International Industry’s requirements can be ensured.
