Mr. Lu Shauye, newly arrived Chinese Ambassador to Canada paid a courtesy call on High Commissioner, Tariq Azim Khan at the Pakistan High Commission, on Friday, says a press release received here today from Ottawa.

High Commissioner, Tariq Azim Khan while welcoming the new Ambassador said that he would be pleased to work with the Chinese counterpart. He said that the importance of strategic relations between the two countries is at the heart of Pakistan’s foreign policy. He added that China Pakistan Economic Corridor will bring dividends not only to China and Pakistan but will
enable people from all countries of the region to share progress, prosperity and development.

The Chinese Ambassador said that with the visit of Pakistan High Commission he has started his interaction with the diplomatic corps in Ottawa. He added that Pakistan is an important country for China and the exemplary friendship between the two countries is envy for other nations. He informed the High Commissioner that the Chinese government is holding a high level international conference in May this year and 25 heads of states are expected to participate to explore opportunities related to the regional trade.
