Mr. Tomas Rosandar, Ambassador of Sweden, paid a farewell call on the Federal Minister for Finance Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar this morning.

The Minister warmly welcomed the guest and appreciated his services for the promotion of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Mr. Rosander shared his experience of working in Pakistan and stated that it had been a rewarding time for him as a diplomat. He said that the trade between the two countries had increased with a significant increase in Pakistani exports to Sweden. He said that there was still untapped potential for growth of trade and it was important to diversify the export products. The Ambassador said that the recent progress made by Pakistan is acknowledged highly by the world community. China Pakistan Economic Corridor will open up new opportunities for investment & growth and enhance economic stability and future development prospects of the country.

The Minister said that the greatly improved security situation and economic stability achieved in the last two years, has opened many opportunities for foreign investors and friendly countries should consider bringing in their investment to Pakistan to benefit from trained manpower. The Minister said that the Government of Pakistan welcomes the investors from all around the world and would like to facilitate them by making Special Economic Zones. The Minister added that World renowned companies established in Sweden could come and invest in the IT sector of Pakistan so that both Pakistan and Sweden could benefit from the opportunities available with each other.
