PR No.45 PEMRA Council Of Complaints Lahore Imposes Fines On Channel 24, Royal Tv And Din News For Non-Appearance Islamabad

The Council of Complaints Lahore in its 58th Meeting held at Regional office Lahore under the chair of Dr. Mehdi Hassan today took serious notice of casual attitude of the Satellite TV Channels namely Royal TV, Channel 24 and Din News for not adhering to the repeated summons of the Council in various pending complaints against these channels. Therefore, the Council of Complaints Lahore has recommended the Authority to approve the fine of Rs. 100,000/- on Royal TV, Rs. 50,000/- on Channel 24 and Rs. 30,000/- on Din News.

The Council has further directed the Authority to recover all outstanding dues including the fine amount from these TV channels within one month failing which their licenses may be processed for suspension.

Other Council members including Dr. Sughra Sadaf, Dr. Mubashar Nadeem, Dr. Lubna Zaheer, Ms. Fauzia Viqar and Dr. Muhammad Safdar Rehman (RGM / Secretary to the Council) were also present in the meeting.
