A Meeting of the Standing Committee of National Assembly on Science & Technology was held on 26.01.2016 at the PCSIR Head Office, Islamabad to discuss the working / performance of PCSIR. The meeting was chaired by Ch. Tariq Bashir Cheema. The Committee comprised of the MNA’s representing various political parties exiting in the National Assembly. Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minster for Science & Technology and Mr. Fazal Abbas Maken Federal Secretary, Ministry of Science & Technology also attended the meeting.

Dr. Shahzad Alam Chairman-PCSIR gave away a brief presentation highlighting progress and achievements of PCSIR. The participants expressed their satisfactions over the performance of the PCSIR in various fields of Science & Technology. The Committee appreciated PCSIR for its performance despite of low/non-allocation of funds for R&D. Upon request of Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minster for Science & Technology, the Chair recommended that funds may be provided for carrying out its R&D activities. The Honorable Members endorsed the recommendations.

In the end, the Chair appreciated Dr. Shahzad Alam, Chairman-PCSIR for giving a presentation that provided an opportunity to know areas of activities of the PCSIR.
