Australian High Commissioner H E Margret Adamson has called on the Federal Minister for Human Rights Senator Kamran Michael here in Islamabad on Thursday. She remained with the minister for some time and discussed the matters of human rights particularly the issues related to the rights of the women, children and minorities. The minister told her about the initiatives and steps which have been taken to promote the interfaith harmony, peace and tolerance by the ministry.  Senator Kamran Michael said that comprehensive steps have been taken to promote and protect the human rights in Pakistan.

While talking to the high commissioner, the minister reiterated his commitment to ensure the protection of the human rights and said that new laws have been made in this regard. He further assured that all out efforts are being made to implement the resolution of European Union and United Nation conventions. Ms. Margret Adamson has appreciated the endeavors of the incumbent government for the protections of the rights of the women, children particularly the minorities and assured her further support in this regard.
