First consignment of 1800 MT of wheat as humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan by Pakistan being delivered today. On 22 November, the PM announced 5 billion Rs. worth of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. This will include 50,000 MT of wheat, emergency medical supplies, winter shelters and other supplies. The decision also approved tariff and sales tax reduction on key Afghan exports to Pakistan. In this context, 1st consignment of wheat (1800 metric tons) is being handed over to Afghanistan at Torkham today (30 December).
