President Mamnoon Hussain has said that sports promote healthy activities, broadens thinking process, and inculcate values of patience and discipline in the society. The President stated that the government is committed to encourage a healthy culture of sports across the country and an environment where people can spend their leisure time productively adding that successful holding of final match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) is a step to this end.

President Mamnoon Hussain expressed optimism that not only international cricket will be revived but also international events of other sports will soon be held in Pakistan. The President felicitated Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Chairman PSL Najam Sethi on successfully organizing final match in Lahore. He added that passion and fervor shown by people during the match reaffirm the nation’s resolve to eliminate the scourge of terrorism and extremism from the country.

The President congratulated all the teams of PSL for presenting excellent play during the whole event and felicitated Peshawar Zalmi on winning the tournament. The President appreciated Punjab Government and law enforcement agencies for making excellent arrangements and providing fool-proof security during the final match.
