PSB Doors Opened Sports System will be depoliticized Doping Free Sports is our priority

Representatives of thirteen National Sports Federations including Hockey, Kabaddi, Tennis, Squash, Karate, Alpine, Judo, Weightlifting, Tenpin Bowlling, Wusu, Bodybuilding, Table Tennis and Rifle Shooting called on the Director General, Pakistan Sports Board Col (R) Muhammad Asif Zaman in his office here at Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad on Thursday. While sharing the different points of under process National sports Policy, the Director General apprised the representatives of above naional sports Federations that the Govt. intends to constitute an independent Election Commission inconsultation with the stakeholders. The proposed Election Commission will work independently and ensure free, fair & transparent election of every federation. This initive is needed to depoliticise the sports system. An independent Sports Dispute Resolution Commission will also be established for the settlement and early resolution of the NSFs’ conflicts, he added. While declaring 2021-22 as “The Year of Sports”, the Director General sought two year activity plan along with targets from the Sports Federations. He said, the Govt will spent more on sports by making the Federations more active and accountable. However, he stressed upon to discourage doping tendency & reitarriated that doping would be elminated mercilessly to portray a fair picture on the horison of sports. At the end, the Director General distributed cheques of different amounts among the National Sports Federations with this hope that each and every penny would be spent on the development of sports and the well being of sportspersons & grooming the potential. The representatives of the federations thanked the DG and Pakistan Sports Board for providing them financial assistance and ensure that this public money will be incurred on the objectives, it is meant for.
