PRIME MINISTER IMRAN KHAN LAUDS THE CONTRIBUTION OF OVERSEAS PAKISTANIS TO THE COUNTRY

Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed a distinguished gathering of overseas Pakistanis in Jeddah today. He was speaking at a community event organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia where Governor State Bank, Syed Baqir Raza, also highlighted the achievements and promise of "Roshan Digital Accounts", launched last year, under the vision of the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister extolled praise for the overseas Pakistanis for their patriotism and contribution to the progress and development of Pakistan. Recalling his personal experience of interacting with overseas Pakistanis, spanning over three decades, he termed them an asset for Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the welfare and well-being of overseas Pakistanis was among the government's top priorities. He added that all efforts will be made to resolve their issues and nurturing their potential to the benefit of the motherland. The Prime Minister especially appreciated the role of Pakistani expatriates in the Kingdom – largest Pakistani Diaspora abroad, for the largest contribution it makes to foreign remittances of the country. He urged them to utilize the special schemes, such as the Roshan Digital Accounts, which have been launched with a view to facilitating them. Prime Minister Imran Khan also encouraged the Ambassador to develop close liaison with the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia, remain aware of their needs and issues and make every effort towards addressing them. Appreciating the Saudi leadership for supporting Pakistan at every critical juncture, the Prime Minister accorded high importance to Pakistan's relationship with the Kingdom. Acknowledging the considerate measures taken by the Kingdom for its expatriate population, especially during the global pandemic, the Prime Minister hoped that the Saudi authorities will continue to address the needs of Pakistani Diaspora.
