H. E Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al-Malki, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan called on Federal Minister for Energy Mr. Omar Ayub Khan in his office this morning. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Petroleum Mr Nadeem Babar & Mr. Ali Raza Bhutta were also present in the meeting. Both sides deliberated upon joint ventures by Pakistan & the Kingdom in the petroleum and energy sector. The Minister apprised the envoy about the progress of various energy projects in lieu of investment-friendly policies introduced by current government in diverse fields for thriving economic development of Pakistan. The Minister said the diversified market of energy sector is one of the prime investment destination to boost the economic growth of the country. He also told the envoy that government is focusing on energy projects under new renewable energy policy to harness local resources for power generation and revival of exploration and production activities in oil & gas sector would attract investment in the country. The ambassador acknowledged the efforts made by the Minister & his team for Pak-Saudi projects in the energy sector. He stressed that the kingdom would continue to work with Pakistan for strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.
