Under directions from the Prime Minister, Minister for National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar on Friday visited the homes to meet beneficiary patients of Prime Minister’s National Health Program who have been treated and cured in empanelled hospitals.
She spent time with their families and inquired after their health. The families expressed happiness over the recovery of their loved ones.
Minister also conducted surprise visit of two of the eight hospitals in Islamabad providing services to the poor under the Prime Minister’s National Health Program.
The Minister visited HBS and Nafees hospital to witness the implementation of the program. She looked at each step the beneficiary patients go through from their entry into the hospital premises to their admission and care and discharge from the hospital. She inquired from all responsible officials at every stage and asked questions about the time spent and process at each stage. Saira Afzal Tarar then spent time with beneficiary patients and inquired about the quality of care being provided to them.
The Minister said the Prime Minister was keen to know of the welfare of each patient and it is in this context that she was visiting homes of discharged patients.
She directed the hospital staff to make all out effort and work with missionary zeal for the noble cause so that highest quality of care is provided to every patient under the program.
