PR No. 27 EGYPT SHOWS INTEREST IN INVESTING IN FOOD SECTOR Islamabad: October 03, 2019

The Egyptian Ambassador H.E. Ahmed Fadel Yacoub along with his delegation called on Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research Mr. Sahibzada Muhammad Mehboob Sultan. Federal Minister said that both the countries share common agricultural traditions and there is a lot of potential for exchange of research & techniques between the two countries. H.E. Fadel Yacoub told that Pakistan could consider the acknowledgement of scholarships from Egyptian Agriculture Universities. Pakistani delegation suggested that Pakistan import two-third (2/3) of its required DAP from various countries, Egypt is welcome for any joint venture for establishing a plant in Pakistan and invest thereof. Moreover Pakistan could benefit from Egyptian research and development in various crops like cotton as it has much better yield comparatively. Egyptian Ambassador suggested visit of Pakistan’s Agricultural Specialists & Scientists to one of the world’s pioneer Agriculture Research Centers in Egypt to further explore the opportunities in the field of Agriculture particularly agriculture research. ********
