PR No. 03 INTERFACE WITH PRIVATE SECTOR FOR INSTITUTIONAL REFORM IN MINISTRY OF DEFENCE PRODUCTION Islamabad: October 01, 2019

Secretary, Ministry of Defence Production Lt Gen (Retd) Doctor Zahid Latif chaired a meeting held in MoDP which was attended by CEOs/MDs of leading defence related private industries of Pakistan. Secretary (DP) while welcoming the participants appreciated their role in defence related contributions. Secretary (DP) highlighted the need to establish a potent and vibrant interface between Govt institutions PSEs and Private sector. He accordingly asked the participants for their valuable suggestion for reforming the existing procedures and creation of relevant secretariat within MoDP. Valuable suggestions were put forward by the participants for making active and enhanced role of local vendors towards attaining self-reliance in defence production. Various recommendations were made for streamlining the complex procedure, ease in issuance of NOCs and End User Certificates for export. It was emphasized by most of the participants that a potent forum be established to facilitate interaction between Govt Ministries/ Departments and local vendors under the auspices of MoDP. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
