10th Round of Pakistan-Japan Military to Military Talks was held in Ministry of Defence, Rawalpindi, Pakistan on 18th June 2019. Rear Admiral Owais Ahmed Bilgrami SI(M), Additional Secretary Defence, Ministry of Defence led the Pakistan delegation while Mr. HIDEO SUZUKI, Director General for International Affairs, Bureau of Defence Policy, Ministry of Defence headed Japanese side. Rear Admiral Owais Ahmed Bilgrami welcomed the Japanese delegation and appreciated the goodwill existing between the Armed Forces of the two countries. Apart from reviewing the progress made on the Agenda of the 9th Round of the Talks which were held in Japan in April 2018, the forum was also briefed about Pakistan’s role and efforts in pursuing enduring peace in the region. Mr. HIDEO SUZUKI in his remarks conveyed the desire of Japan for moving ahead in all fields, particularly defence cooperation between both countries. Both leaders also exchanged views on enhancing and diversifying defence cooperation between Pakistan and Japan. Japanese leader shared views on Japan’s security policy in its region. During the talks, both sides discussed various issues of mutual interest, including respective regional security, Counter Terrorism and peace in Asia. A Memorandum on Defence Cooperation and Exchanges between the two countries was also signed which would enable the two countries to strengthen and diversify their Defence Cooperation. Talks were held in a cordial atmosphere. Delegation leaders reaffirmed the resolve to work together for enhancing and diversifying co-operation in defence collaboration. It was agreed to convene the next Round of Pakistan-Japan Military to Military Talks in Tokyo, Japan. ***** ?
