Federal Minster for Human Rights Dr Shireen M Mazari met with the Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ms. Margaret Adamson on Monday here in Islamabad. During the meeting, different matters related to human rights were discussed. Dr Mazari briefed the High Commissioner about initiatives, steps and progress taken to safeguard the human rights in Pakistan. Federal Minster also showed her deep concern over the hatred remarks against Muslims made by Australian Senator Fraser Anning and called it disapproved and unscrupulous act. Australian high commissioner informed the minister that Australian parliament will censure the senator and he will be punished according to the law. Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ms. Margaret Adamson also expressed her condolence over Christchurch Mosques attacks on Muslims in New Zealand said that Australian Government condemns such brutal attempts. Federal Minister reaffirmed her firm commitment to take all possible measures for the promotion and protection of human rights including the rights of women, children and minorities in Pakistan. She shared that it has been a top propriety of incumbent government especially the Ministry of Human Rights to ensure the delivery of basic human rights to each member of this society beyond any discrimination. Federal Minster said that we are taking pragmatic steps to ensure the provision of human rights and apprised the Australian High Commissioner about the steps which have been taken in this regard. Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ms. Margaret Adamson appreciated the endeavors of ministry of human rights for the Protection and promotion of Human Rights and assured their full support in this regard. *****
