PR NO. 174 PAKISTAN NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATED AT TEHRAN Islamabad: March 23, 2019

Pakistan National Day was commemorated with national fervor and enthusiasm today at the Ambassador's residence, Tehran in a simple but impressive ceremony attended by a large number of Pakistanis, says a press release received here today from Tehran. Ambassador Ms.Riffat Masood hoisted the national flag to mark the occasion with national anthem sung by Pakistani students from Pakistan Embassy International School & College, Tehran. Messages of the President and the Prime Minister were read out on the occasion. The Ambassador in her address paid rich tributes to the father of the nation Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the leaders of the Pakistan movement. The Ambassador recalled the efforts and sacrifices of the founding fathers for achieving a separate homeland for the Muslims of South Asia. Ambassador Riffat Masood called upon the Pakistani community to remain committed to serving the country and reiterated the need for forging national unity to overcome the challenges being faced by the country. The Ambassador also highlighted the policies of the Government aimed at eliminating extremism and terrorism from the country and achieving economic goals and uplifting the standards of living of the people. Commenting on the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran, Ambassador Riffat Masood expressed the hope that under the present leadership of both countries relations between the two nations would grow further. A Student from Pakistan Embassy School & College, Tehran, in her speech, paid homage to the father of the nation and the leaders of the freedom movement. A group of children also presented national songs on the occasion.
