Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has extended his warm felicitations and best wishes to Mian Shahbaz Sharif, President PML (N) on his unopposed election as the Chief Minister of Punjab.

 The Prime Minister Said that Mian Shahbaz Sharif s unopposed election as Chief Minister of Punjab is a victory of the democratic forces and fulfillment of the aspirations of the people of Punjab who have reposed their confidence in Shahbaz Sharif. He said PPP too has full confidence in his leadership as well as his abilities to put Punjab back on the path of progress, development and prosperity.

 The Prime Minister said that Mian Shahbaz Sharif is an experienced politician and an able administrator having successfully served as Chief Minister in the 90s. He said that he has no doubt that Mian Shahbaz Sharif will serve the province to the best of his capacities and come up to the expectations of the people.

Islamabad, June 8, 2008.

            Dr. Fehmida Mirza Speaker National Assembly and Faisal Karim Kundi Deputy Speaker National Assembly have felicitated Mian Shahbaz Sharif on his unopposed election as Chief Minster of the Punjab.

             In their congratulatory messages the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker said that his unopposed election as Chief Minister of the Punjab was an evidence of the trust and confidence reposed on him by the leadership and people of Punjab. They were confident that he would lead the province towards progress and prosperity and would promote real democracy in the country.
